J.Lo And Affleck - Sushi Snuggle
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are fuelling reports of romance by ignoring their sushi in favor of a snuggle. The pair, who grew close while filming Gigli, denied all reports of intimacy while J.Lo worked out her divorce settlement with Cris Judd. Now that she and Judd have a deal in place, Jen and Ben can't keep their hands or lips off each other, according to onlookers at New York's swanky Nobu restaurant, where they spent an evening last week. One fellow diner says, "They were kissing and very touchy-feely. They seemed proud to be with each other." Lopez and Affleck were joined later by Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, but grew a little shyer when they heard that paparazzi might be lurking outside. Lopez left through the front door while Ben sneaked through the kitchen and out the service entrance.

Judd Forced To Watch Jennifer's New Love Affair
Jennifer Lopez 's estranged husband Cris Judd was forced to watch as his wife flirted and fell in love with Ben Affleck. The dancer had to turn a blind eye as J.Lo's on-set romance with her Gigli co- star began last December, and friends claim that the couple's short-lived marriage was already over then - six months before they officially split. One pal tells American showbiz magazine Us Weekly, "Jennifer and Ben were very silly, giddy and funny on-set, whispering in each other's ears. Cris would go on the set and find Jennifer and Ben in a huddle. As soon as they saw him coming, they would break apart. Let's just say Cris wasn't scratching his head about who her next boyfriend would be."

J Lo Concert was 'Risky' Move, Says Lopez

Most performers wait a few concerts in before deciding to tape a concert special -- giving them time to get down the details of the show and iron out any kinks. However, Jennifer Lopez decided to leap into the fire by taping her upcoming concert special for NBC during the very first concert performance promoting her second album, "J Lo."

"It was kind of risky to do it as my first concert," Lopez says, adding the she only spent two days in Puerto Rico, where the special was shot.

"If we had ironed out a little bit you wouldn't have gotten out of it as much of the excitement and the raw vibe and energy that was happening there. I think it makes it actually a little more special than just having a concert special after you've been on the road a long time."

Featuring no less than six costume changes, "Jennifer Lopez in Concert" will air on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. Cut in half from the original concert, which lasted about two hours, the special will feature a dozen numbers from the newer album as well as a couple from her first outing, "On the 6."

"It's the fulfillment of probably my biggest childhood dreams," Lopez says of the concert, which was taped last September in her parents' homeland of Puerto Rico, at San Juan's Roberto Clemente Stadium.

Lopez says she used a number of influences for the concert, including her favorite film "Lady Sings the Blues." Also adding to the dιcor is a neon sign reading "J Lo," the nickname that was given to her by her fans.

"I see it as a term of affection from my fans," she tells, adding that this was part of the reason that she named the album "J Lo."

The singer-actress is also developing a sitcom with the network, which is still in the writing stages. Lopez will both star and executive produce the comedy.

Lopez's credits include the films "U Turn," "Selena," "Out of Sight" and "The Cell." She also appears in the upcoming films "Enough," opposite Billy Campbell, and "Gigli" with Ben Affleck.

J-Lo Sparks Trend For Bottom Implants

Source: Internet Movie Database
Curvaceous babe Jennifer Lopez has sparked a new craze in cosmetic surgery - butt-implants. Sales of butt-hoisting tights and cheek-enhancing underwear have sky rocketed since the Latino sex-kitten shot to fame - but those in the know still agree surgery is the best option for those desperate for a bigger butt. Reaping the rewards of the new trend is Dr. Thomas Roberts who launched the trailblazing buttock augmentation operations. Acknowledging his debt to Lopez, he says, 'Jennifer Lopez has definitely sent demand for this kind of surgery sky-high. Women really want a shapely, rounded bottom like hers. Jennifer has made big bottoms big news again. Ever since the dawn of time, men have found breasts and the buttocks the two most alluring parts of a woman's body.' The operation costs around $4200, and involves 'harvesting' surplus fat from fleshy areas via a delicate liposuction technique and then transplanting it to the buttocks.

Lopez Lyric Draws Accusations of Racism

Source: Mr.Showbiz
Jennifer Lopez, who used to date rapper Sean Combs, is defending herself against charges of racism for use of the word "nigger" in a remix of her song "I'm Real."
"For anyone to think or suggest that I'm racist is really absurd and hateful to me," the singer-actress tells The Associated Press. "The use of the word in the song … it was actually written by Ja Rule [and] it was not meant to be hurtful to anybody," she said during an interview on NBC's Today show this morning.
Lopez performed the original version of the song in the middle of Rockefeller Plaza on the morning show. The remix version by the African-American rapper Ja Rule (who has a small role in the box-office hit The Fast and the Furious) is currently No. 26 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
"I don't want to give it too much energy," Lopez said of the controversy. "I'm here to perform for the fans and that's what I'm going to do."
Lopez remains coy about whether she's engaged to her boyfriend, dancer Cris Judd. She smiled and merely said, "I guess you'll just have to wait and see," when asked about marriage rumors

Lopez Rep Denies Baby Plans
Source: Mr.Showbiz
Jennifer Lopez is rumored to soon be wedding her dancer boyfriend, Cris Judd, but a new interview reportedly given by the diva, in which she alludes to planning a wedding and having a child, is just hogwash, says her rep.
London's News of the World quotes the diva as saying, "I feel I've found my soul mate in Cris. He makes me laugh, and I feel so comfortable with him. I can't imagine life without him."
Her rep, Alan Nierob, tells Mr. Showbiz that Lopez never spoke to the publication and sticks with his office's position of refusing to comment on Lopez's personal life.
The London paper further had Lopez fanning the gossip flames, with the singer-actress reportedly saying, "I'm not saying if I'm engaged — but when I have children, I want to be married. So if I'm planning to have children early next year, I want to be married well before."
Lopez has denied recent reports that she's already expecting. According to the New York Post, one part of the London report is true. The 30-year-old singer-actress told the tab last month, "I'd never have a baby without being married — my parents would kill me."
The diva and her back-up dancer went public with their romance at this year's Oscars. Lopez split from longtime boyfriend Sean Combs earlier this year.

J.Lo To Star In NBC Special

J. Lo is returning to TV for the first time since she appeared as one of the "Flygirls" on FOX's sketch comedy "In Living Color." Jennifer Lopez has signed a deal with NBC to star in and produce a TV special this fall, according to Variety. The singer-dancer-actress will produce three additional specials for the network and develop a half-hour sitcom based on her family and upbringing in the Bronx.

Jeff Gaspin, the former VH1 executive who recently took charge of alternative series and specials for NBC Entertainment, initiated Lopez's deal with NBC.

"When I got to NBC, I knew that Jennifer had just had a No. 1 selling album and top-grossing film in the same week, but that she'd never had a TV special," says Gaspin.

The first special will focus on her current top-selling album "J.Lo," and will be similar to musical network showcases done for the likes of Faith Hill, the Dixie Chicks and Madonna. Future specials will likely feature other artists.

"I can't wait to see what Jennifer will wear," says Gaspin.

Lopez, who stars in the upcoming film "Angel Eyes," is currently shooting "Enough," directed by Michael Apted, with Billy Campbell and Noah Wyle. She will then star in the film "Taking Lives," directed by Tony Scott, and the thriller "Tick Tock." In addition, she is in talks to star in "One," a romance with supernatural overtones written by Nick Kazan.

Combs and Lopez: Just Like Frank and Ava?

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and singer-actress Jennifer Lopez may be splitsville, but the rapper still thinks they have one of the greatest love affairs of all time.

Combs compares their relationship, which, ironically, ended on Valentine's Day, to that of the tumultuous, unforgettable affair between Frank Sinatra and green-eyed starlet Ava Gardner. "I'm Frank, you know what I'm saying?" Combs brags in the new issue of Vanity Fair. "Frank's always gonna love Ava and Ava's gonna always love Frank and everybody's just gotta deal with it."

Gardner and Sinatra had a stormy relationship from 1951 to 1957, when they divorced. However, they remained in touch, with Sinatra taking care of the actress's medical bills after she was partially paralyzed by a stroke in 1989. Gardner died in 1990; Sinatra passed away in 1998.

Combs says he and Lopez are still "good friends" and goes so far as to claim that if she were in a burning building, he'd risk death to save her. "She'll always be someone that I love," the rapper gushes.

Lopez, who's now dating dancer Cris Judd, is a little less effusive. "I tried to be there for him [during his gun possession and bribery trial, which resulted in Combs' acquittal]," the diva tells Vanity Fair. "I tried to stay positive, even when I didn't feel positive. And I was always a phone call away."

The couple's relationship is hinted at in an upcoming episode of Law & Order titled "3 Dawg Night," which revolves around a wealthy New York rapper and a young, up-and-coming Latina singer who are embroiled in a nightclub shooting.

Combs' reps told the New York Post that the story was "pure entertainment" that "doesn't affect him."

Jennifer, 30, spent an hour in her trailer with barman Ojani Noa after he arrived with a big bouquet of flowers and later the couple enjoyed a cosy restaurant meal. A source on set said Los Angeles-based Ojani immediately rang Lopez when he heard she was in town - and she was only too delighted to link up. The insider said, "They still get on very well, despite the break-up of their marriage."

Lopez's Fashion Line Caters to Curves

The romance between Puff Daddy (or P. Diddy, as he now prefers to be called) and Jennifer Lopez may be a thing of the past … but next year, couples dressed in Puffy's Sean John threads and Lopez's Sweetface fashions could be a common sight.

The pop-singer-actress followed the path of her ex-boyfriend and launched her third career at a press conference on Thursday at the St. Regis Hotel in Los Angeles, where she unveiled her Sweetface fashion line, with the help of Andy Hilfiger (brother of famed designer Tommy).

"It's time for the world to wear my look," Lopez told reporters. This does not mean, however, that Lopez plans on peddling two-sided tape in order to allow women to tart themselves up in replicas of the infamous low-cut Versace dress she wore to last year's Grammys — or the nearly invisible gray Chanel number she wore to the Academy Awards in March.

The collection, worn by several models appearing with Lopez, looks like it comes straight off the streets of her native Bronx, N.Y.: low-slung French jeans with lace-up backs, tiny T-shirts, powder-blue velvet sweat suits, acid-washed denim mini dresses, and denim spike-heeled boots.

Lopez herself wore white, bell-bottomed hip-hugger pants with attached white suspenders, a revealing white Lycra tube top emblazoned with a sequined Puerto Rican flag, and silver high-heeled sandals.

"Just because you dress sexy doesn't mean you're a bad girl; it just means you know how to dress," Lopez said.

The Lopez-Hilfiger team plans to launch the line of "sporty chic" and sexy denim, stretch, and casual wear in time for the 2001 Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. A more extensive J.Lo Lifestyle collection — including swimwear, eyewear, and accessories — is expected to follow, she said. Prices will range from around $20 for a T-shirt to $850 for a leather skirt.

"Even before I learned to dance and sing and act in films, I was just redesigning clothes," she said of her childhood in the Bronx. "I found that there was not exactly what I needed that fit me at that time. … From the time I was little, I would get a really whacked pair of pants really cheap and cut them and make a beautiful tiny miniskirt out of them because I was on a lower budget at that time."

Even after becoming a star, Lopez said, she has had a difficult time finding clothes that fit her properly and has had to resort to having pieces tailor-made to fit both her narrow waist and her voluptuous hips. Her line grows out of a desire to help other women like her find clothes that fit their curves.

The singer, actress, and now fashionista became the first artist to top both the U.S. music and movie charts in the same week with her current album, J.Lo, and the film The Wedding Planner. This latest venture aims to bring in more than $100 million in sales over the next year and a half, Hilfiger told reporters.

J.Lo Taking $ 10 Milion !!!

We won't be calling her K-Lo anytime soon. Jennifer Lopez (also known as J-Lo) is dropping her plans to mount a biopic of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

Lopez's project was just a day late and a canvas short of Salma Hayek's rival big-screen treatment of the iconic painter.

Instead, Lopez is reportedly getting more than $10 million to star as an FBI agent for director Tony Scott in the Warner Bros. crime thriller Taking Lives, according to Variety. The project, which once had Cate Blanchett attached, concerns a serial murderer who kills strangers and assumes their identities.

Lopez has been in similar territory before, playing a federal marshal in Out of Sight, a psychologist who enters the mind of a killer in The Cell, and a city cop in the upcoming Angel Eyes.

Eyes, which co-stars Jim Caviezel, has been bumped up from a July release date to May 18. Lopez nearly dropped that project when producers couldn't meet her asking price, but they reportedly settled on a fee of $7.5 million.

Lopez and De Niro Team Up for Day Musical
Source: Mr.Showbiz

Pop singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and veteran thespian Robert De Niro are in talks to reprise the witty repartee between Doris Day and James Cagney in the 1955 musical Love Me or Leave Me.

Though both stars will likely shoot one other film prior to the project — and sit out a looming actors' strike this summer — both are interested in the remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lopez and De Niro are likely to produce Love Me or Leave Me through their respective companies, Nuyorican Productions and Tribeca Productions.

Unlike the original, Lopez's Love Me or Leave Me will not be based on the colorful life of '30s singer Ruth Etting, a Ziegfeld Follies star whose career was allegedly kick-started (and later ruined) by her Chicago gangster beau.

Another Doris Day musical, Send Me No Flowers, is also headed for remake territory. Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, the writing-directing team behind Josie and the Pussycats, just signed a deal to bring that 1964 feature back to the big screen.

Lopez won't testify
Source: TV
Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez will not take the stand in the gun possession and bribery trial of her ex-boyfriend Sean "Puffy" Combs, Reuters reports. In a joint statement released by the estranged lovebirds, Combs said, "Since I intend to testify on my own behalf, I feel it is no longer necessary for Jennifer to be involved in these proceedings." Added Lopez: "If [Puffy] and his lawyers change their minds and require me to testify, I will be there immediately to tell the truth." The rap mogul is expected to take the stand Thursday.

Jennifer Fires Bodyguard
Source: Mr.Showbiz
One of Jennifer Lopez's bodyguards is feeling his employer's wrath after being caught carrying drugs across the border. Though customs officials at the Toronto airport decided not to arrest the big lug, Lopez has reportedly fired him for giving her another legal scare.

According to the New York Daily News, the singer-actress and her entourage were detained for hours on Feb. 11, after a drug-sniffing canine discovered that one of her thugs was packing pot and hashish in his socks. Luckily, Canadian authorities decided to go easy on the bodyguard.

"It's up to an officer's discretion on whether to lay charges," Canadian police spokesman Larry Foy told the Daily News. "It was a very small amount."

Still, Lopez was apparently upset enough to fire the man. As the Daily News discreetly pointed out, the singer-actress, who is listed as a possible witness in the gun possession trial of her ex, Sean "Puffy" Combs, needs more legal trouble "like an extra inch on her derriere."

Lopez Says She Isn't All Diva
Source: Mr.Showbiz

When you're at the top of both the music and the movie worlds, your fame precedes you. By the time singer-actress Jennifer Lopez reached Hong Kong on a promotional stop for her new album, J.Lo, she decided to address some persistent rumors about her diva-like behavior.

First of all, Lopez says she has not insured her body for $1 billion. "No, and I know that was a big rumor," the Latina star told reporters. "I actually saved the newspaper [reports] to show my kids one day, but it's not true. Sorry," she added, giggling.

Still, reports of her extensive backstage demands have some basis in fact, though Lopez adds, "Things tend to be exaggerated a lot."

Asked to comment on her alleged demands — which, according to various reports, include numerous burning candles, an expensive fragrance sprayed in Lopez's path, a fan blowing her hair just so, and accommodations for a posse of more than 50 people — Lopez said, "The girl next door has grown."

Puffy Confirms Broken Heart on Valentine's Day
Source: Wall of sound

After weeks of denials, Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs chose Valentine's Day to confirm that his relationship with singer-actress Jennifer Lopez has ended.

"Mr. Combs confirmed that he and his love, Jennifer Lopez, have in fact broken up," his publicist Nathalie Moar said today.

Moar had previously denied the rumors — which persistently appeared on the gossip pages of tabloids for weeks, along with the suggestion that Lopez was now dating a dancer, who appears in her video for "Love Don't Cost a Thing." Apparently, the pressure of the reporters became too much.

"Mr. Combs is confirming this today, as he wanted to put all the rumors surrounding their relationship to rest. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect his privacy," Moar said.

Lopez is in Australia, promoting her latest album, J.Lo, which features four songs produced by Combs.

Before she left, the couple was spotted together in New York, and Lopez denied the breakup on Live With Regis. Some said it was a show of support for Puffy, who is on trial at Manhattan Superior Court on weapons and bribery charges. But the meetings may have also been a last-gasp effort to salvage the relationship.

The breakup is another bump in what has been a tough year for Combs: The rap entrepreneur could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted in his ongoing court case. Lopez is on the witness lists for both the prosecution and the defense in the case — which stems from a December 1999 shooting at a club in New York where both were present — but it's unclear whether she will be called to the stand.

Lopez, Carrey Land Little-Known Co-stars
Source: Mr.Showbiz

Getting a leading man to star opposite Jennifer Lopez — who's currently got both the No. 1 album (J.Lo) and the No. 1 movie (The Wedding Planner) in the country — should be a no-brainer, but most actors are already locked into projects of their own as Hollywood scrambles to churn out as many movies as possible before potential writers' and actors' strikes.

So when The Practice's Dylan McDermott backed out of a potential role as Lopez's abusive husband in Enough, Columbia Pictures turned to another, lesser-known TV hunk: Billy Campbell, of Once and Again.

McDermott reportedly did not want to play such a negative role, especially since the financial deal offered didn't make it appealing enough to him, according to Variety.

The scarcity of talent during this crunch period has also proved to be a boon to virtual unknown Laurie Holden, who just landed a starring role opposite Jim Carrey in the McCarthy-era thriller The Majestic (formerly titled Bijou).

Director Frank Darabont says of Holden, "She beat out a lot of people for this role, and I have to say I'm thrilled at the prospect of presenting a fresh face to the audience. I think she's going to capture a lot of hearts and blow people away."

Holden is known to X-Files fans as U.N. informant Marita Covarrubias. This will be her first lead in a feature.

The clock is ticking on all movie productions, with April being seen as the last possible start date to avoid being shut down by the looming strikes.

Pre-strike casualties already include Oliver Stone's Beyond Borders; The Green Hornet, which had already lost star Jet Li; and possibly David Fincher's The Panic Room, which has lost star Nicole Kidman to an injury. Jodie Foster, who had to scrap her directorial effort Flora Plum due to another injury (to star Russell Crowe) is rumored to be available to take over for Kidman.

Jennifer Bows at No. 1

Her film "The Wedding Planner" is No. 1 in U.S. theaters, and now she's got the top album in the country to match. Jennifer Lopez' sophomore Epic album "J. Lo" debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 on the strength of more than 272,000 copies sold, according to SoundScan. "J. Lo" thus ends the eight-week reign at the top for the Beatles' "1" (Apple/Capitol) collection, which falls to No. 4.
